At Bright Eyes Photography, Stevenage, we’ve been capturing cake smashes for over a decade – and we still love every messy, giggly moment.

Whether you’re after a bold, colourful setup with all the fun extras, or a simple, timeless style that keeps the focus on your little one, we’ll help you celebrate their first big milestone in a way that feels just right for you.

Got dietary needs? No stress – we can sort gluten-free or dairy-free cakes, or mix it up with options like semi-naked cakes with fruit, sugar-free jelly smashes, fruit smashes, or even a watermelon smash. Fancy something totally different? We’ve done spaghetti, fake cakes and more – it’s all about making it personal.

And if food isn’t your thing, we also offer gorgeous non-food first birthday mini-sessions too.

Every one of our Cake Smash sessions now come with our delightful MP4 video slideshows to music which recent parents are raving over!  Fabulous to show at your child's first birthday party (as well as their 18th!) to share all the craziness we capture and to keep the memories alive!

Cake Smash Standard £250

Our standard cake smash package is not really standard! If you book this you will receive 25 of the best high resolution images as well as a slideshow to music which includes a few mini video clips! It includes a cake to smash and the set design and props.

First there is the opportunity to have a family photo against the cake smash set. Then we will take some photos with the O,N,E letters or our new ONE blocks. The cake smash will be next then after, when your baby is messy, there’ll be chance to clean up in a bubbly bathtub.

All photos may be used for inspiration and items can be added and substituted to your own taste. Some of the backdrops feature photographed balloons which are included in the standard set-up cost. For real balloon arrangement designs (basic designs only), the cost is + £25. Floor balloons can be added at no extra cost.

Memory Boards

You think you'll remember all the little details but in truth many of them are lost as life progresses..This is a truly memorable keepsake of your child's first birthday, offering a snapshot of their favourite things, their first words or how many teeth they have. A 16x12 inch pre-designed mounted photo. Categories can be changed to suit the child. Three weeks notice is required in order to design, proof and order the board so that it is ready on cake smash day. An extra photo with the board on our easel is also included and you can take the board home on the day. Payment required when you order from us.

Triplex

Triplex are such a versatile product! They come in square or portrait formats a choice of colours and textiles. You can display standing up and they’re ideal for grandparents gifts to display the 3 best images from the cake smash. When not on display, they can be folded up and put into a bookcase for safe keeping. £99 to add onto any cake smash.

8x8 inch Photobook

This little beauty is so cute! Eight by eight inches square, a padded photo cover (back and front) and 10 spreads (20 pages) With a lay flat design photos can be over the full spread if required.
